INTRODUCING

Matt Patterson

Matt is an Executive Search Consultant with oxford + richmond. He brings over a decade of sales, executive leadership and management consulting experience in financial services, life sciences and consumer packaged goods. Matt has hired and led teams of 3 to 150 members, across international geographies, who have successfully executed on product development, commercialization and technology initiatives. He has also overseen major corporate restructuring initiatives, while taking on interim executive-function roles. Matt’s experience and passion for hiring the right people to build effective teams that do the hard work and execute towards results positions him for success as a search consultant to organizations that are looking to attract and retain top talent.

Background

Matt held progressive roles at Great-West Life (now Canada Life) and Green Shield Canada, during which time he led national business development initiatives, specialized in health benefits and won national sales and account retention awards.

Matt also worked as the Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Global Medical Business at VIVO Cannabis Inc. (TSX: VIVO). In this role, he was responsible for Canadian adult-use and global medical cannabis sales, marketing, operations, product commercialization and distribution strategy across Canada, Europe and Australia with net sales of over $30-million CAD.

Since 2016, Matt has worked as a management consultant with small to mid-sized firms and business units within larger companies.

Education

Matt completed undergraduate study at Huron College at Western University (CAN) in political science before graduating from the London School of Economics and Political Science (UK) with a Masters of Science in Government and Conflict.

Personal

Matt enjoys spending time at home with his wife Ashley, eating her Italian cooking with their human-child ‘Cece’ and dog-child ‘Foster.’ He likes following global politics, fishing with his childhood best-friend, drinking British ales and playing folk-music on his ‘prized-possession’ Gibson guitar. Matt is an active member in his community and strongly believes that ‘localities matter.’
